Faith & Science Songs

What are faith & science songs?

Faith & Science songs are songs that creatively explore the intersection of faith and science, from themes of nature, to God as creator. Often they evoke awe and wonder, and move us to worship.

We received funding from Science for the Church through a grant from the Calvin Institute for Christian Worship to write faith and science songs. We released two new songs: Taste & See and For God so Loved the World.

This project was funded by:

For God So Loved the World

“For God So Loved the World” is a gospel ballad that puts the core gospel message found in John 3:16 to music, emphasizing God’s love for the entire World—everyone and everything. Often this familiar scripture passage’s reference to “the world” is not fully appreciated as extending beyond humanity to include the entirety of creation. This song invites the listener to encounter this familiar verse in a new way and to reflect more deeply on the object of God’s love, the world he created.

It was written by Ciara Reyes-Ton and Jazmine Rose, and features vocals from both of them, in addition to Kimberly Thomas and Viona Okwii Brown. It was produced by Matt Mitchell. Coming soon on all streaming platforms December 20th.

Byron (Mr. Talkbox) Chambers, Artist

"Ciara and Kim display their hearts for God’s word through this powerful song 'For God So Loved The World.' I especially enjoyed the melody of this song and the vocal abilities of both artists in conveying its message. If you need a reminder of how much God loves us all, please listen to this amazing song."

Taste and See

"Taste and See" is an invitation to experience the goodness of God all around us. The world comes alive with wonder, and God's love permeates everything. This song was written and sung by Jazmine Rose, and produced by Grant Argent. Coming soon - out on all music streaming platforms on Dec. 20th.

Rev. Courtney Ellis, Pastor, Presbyterian Church of the Master

"Taste and See" offers a lyrical invitation to experience the wonder and grace of God through creation. It's a reminder that the same God who made the stars knows your name and holds you in love.”

Dr. Richard Lindroth, Distinguished Fellow at the Lumen Center

“Biblical psalmists and prophets encouraged God’s people to ‘Sing to the Lord a new song.’  Few people, however, have the talent and perseverance to create new songs. Fortunately for the rest of us, some do – such as the Mount Carmell Worship Collective. “Taste and See,” couples clean, light, acoustical guitar with crystalline vocals and timeless scriptural truths focused on God’s love for, and redemptive work on behalf of, all creation.”
